Quick Start Guide/User' s Guide

Four Storage Spaces

Overview

How to switch among the spaces, and set up based on your needs

"Personal Space" (commonly referred to as "My Space") on NAS (Network Attached Storage) is a dedicated and independent "Personal Space" provided to each user who has bound a Cyber Cloud device.

The content within your "Personal Space" is only visible and accessible to you, and cannot be viewed or accessed by other users.

Key Functions

  1. Data Isolation & Privacy Protection
  • Dedicated Space: Each user can only access their own personal space upon login and cannot view the personal spaces of other users.
  • Prevention of Accidental Operations: Helps avoid accidental deletion or modification of others' files, which is especially useful in multi-user environments like families or businesses.

  1. Personalized Storage Management
  • Independent Quotas: The feature to set independent storage quotas for each user is not currently supported. Please stay tuned for ongoing optimizations.
  • Custom File Structure: Users can freely create folders and categorize documents (e.g., work, photos, private materials) within their own space without interference from others.

The "Public Space" (commonly referred to as "Shared Folder") on the NAS is a storage area accessible to all authorized users.

It is primarily used for team collaboration and resource sharing. Every user who has bound their device with CyberData OS can view and edit files within the "Public Space," provided there are no permission restrictions.

Permission Setting Guide

1. Open the App and click "Settings" → "Admin" → "Common Space Permissions"

2. Here you can see the Space Permissions, and configure the corresponding permissions for each user according to your requirements.

The "Group Space" (often referred to as a group folder or team space) in NAS is a collaborative storage area designed for specific user groups. It sits between personal space (private) and public space (shared by all members).

Each user bound to a Cyber Cloud device can create and join a "Group Space," provided they have the necessary permissions.

Content within the "Group Space" is only visible to users who have joined the group. It remains inaccessible to those who are not added to the group.

Creating a Group Space

1. Open the App and click "Settings" → "Admin" → "Create" Group Space

2. Then set the name of the group space, select the storage pool where this group is located, assign the capacity quota for the group space, click Submit, and the creation is successful.

3. After creation, you can go to "Permission Policy" and set up the permission for every user.

The Private Space (also known as Encrypted Space/Vault) is a storage area within the NAS isolated by strong encryption technology. It requires a key to access.

Every user who has bound a Cyber Cloud device can create a key to enter their own "Private Space."

How to Set up for Encrypting Private Files?

1. Open the app and switch into private space. On first entry, you need to set a Private Space password (enter it twice for confirmation) and click Confirm.
Once set up for the first time, you will enter the Private Space.

Data saved in the Private Space is encrypted and cannot be accessed by others. Each account has its own Private Space, and entering it requires entering the Private Space password each time.
