How to Replace a Hard Drive for Capacity Expansion?

In what situations is a "hard drive replacement" operation required?

1. When the system prompts a storage pool abnormality
When a hard drive is damaged, the system will prompt a storage pool abnormality or array degradation. In this case, the only solution is to replace the damaged or missing hard drive to restore the array.

2. When you want to replace smaller hard drives used in a previously created storage pool with larger ones
Hard drive replacement can only be used to replace small-capacity hard drives with larger ones. It cannot be used to add additional hard drives.

Hard Drive Replacement Instructions

1. In the Cyber Cloud software, go to Storage > Click on the corresponding storage pool > Replace Hard Drive.

2. Select the hard drive to be replaced (the old drive).

3. Select the new hard drive to be installed. Click Confirm and wait for the process to complete.

By following the steps above, you can replace smaller-capacity hard drives one by one with larger ones to expand the storage capacity of your NAS device.
