How to perform device migration after a replacement?

When your NAS device has been replaced and the old unit is switched out for a new one, the migration process is a critical step to ensure seamless transfer of data, configurations, and services.

This guide will walk you through the steps of migrating data from the original device to the new one.

Taking two CS200-Pro units as an example:

Computer / Desktop Client

1. Power off your device, remove the hard drive from the original device, and insert it into the new device in the same order as before, then power on the new device.

(Example using two CS200-Pro units):

2. In a local network environment, open the CyberData APP, bind the new device → select "Bind via LAN IP" → enter the IP address → confirm.

3. Select "Migrate data to this device" → confirm "OK" → enter the administrator password of the original device → confirm.

4. When prompted "Device Migration Successful" → confirm → wait for the device to restart. Once restarted, the device will enter a logged-in state, and you can log in directly using the original device account.
