Group Expansion
Intrduction
Add a new group of virtual devices and integrate them into the storage pool to achieve capacity expansion.
Precautions
· It is not recommended to perform group expansion with a single hard drive. After group expansion, the device becomes a striped configuration (RAID 0). When using a single hard drive for group expansion, only non-redundant modes are available. If this drive fails later, it may lead to complete data loss.
· When performing group expansion with multiple hard drives, be sure to select a redundant mode.
· It is advisable to keep the disk group configuration of the newly added virtual devices consistent with that of other virtual devices in the pool.
Operation Guide
Open the CyberCloud App → Storage Manager → Storage Pool, tap on "System Pool" → Grouped Expansion.
Examples of group expansion using one, two, and three hard drives are provided below.

1. Adding a Single Hard Drive to a Storage Pool
(1) Click "Add Drives to Pool," select a hard drive, and click "Next."

(2) Choose the virtual device disk configuration mode. Since only non-redundant options are available when adding a single hard drive, check "RS10 Single Disk Mode" and confirm to proceed.
(3) After successful expansion, the new drive can be viewed under "Devices in Pool."

2. Adding Two Hard Drives to a Storage Pool
(1) Click "Add Drives to Pool," select two hard drives, and click "Next."

(2) Choose the virtual device disk configuration mode. When adding two hard drives, there are two options: non-redundant single-disk mode and redundant mode.

Be sure to select the redundant mode. Check "RS21 Mirror Mode" and confirm to proceed.
